Robert Roatta est né à Vernon dans l'Eure en 1956.
Concidéré comme un peintre autodidacte,il se met à la peinture à 37 ans.Suite à un voyage en Afrique,la peinture s'impose à lui, la révélation des formes, des matières, des couleurs et des lignes, lui permettent d'oser sans retenu.La plupart de ses créations cherchent à conjuguer l'esthétique des traits et le geste large spontané.En constante évolution, toujours à la recherche de nouveaux thèmes et de nouvelles matières.

Robert Roatta was born in Vernon,l'Eure in 1956.
Concidered like a self-educated painter,since he started to paint at the age of thirty seven.
He's documented through books but is very quickly bored of the academic techniques and practices.After many trips, of one in particular in Africa, painting became obvious to him,the revelation of the forms, the colors, the lines and the textures, enable him to dare without holding back.The majority of his creations seek to combine the esthetic of the features and the wide ,spontaneous gesture.In constant evolution,always in search of new topics and mixtures of textures.

After two years of exhibition in his workshop on the ramparts brood in the picturesque stone of the village of Saint-Paul,The contemporary painter Robert Roatta settles in the enchanting village of Valbonne.
